Becoming More Fuel Efficient

Since getting my oil changed, tires inflated and rotated, and detailed I've been researching other ways that I can get the most out of my car. I already purchased a bike but have been trying to find a used helmet online to no avail. I think I may have to crack down and buy one new. I can't start riding to work until I have a helmet...Safety First!!

Most of the tips that I've read seem like common sense. I think we all know that we should batch together our errands, look into a car share/carpool to work, do not speed, do not store stuff in your trunk, and other similar tips. I guess I thought there would be some deeper level of hints and tricks that would stretch my fuel spending dollar. Here is an article by the Federal Trade Commission on "How to Improve Gas Mileage"

I did download an app on Friday called Fuel Buddy. It will locate you, tell you the cheapest gas in the area, and has a section where you can journal where you last bought gas, how much you paid, and how many gallons you bought. After awhile you will be able to easily calculate your MPG cost.

Do you have any other tips??
