Farmers Markets and More

I'm looking to eliminate all of my shopping at a traditional grocery store as soon as possible. I would like to only begin eating food that comes from local farms that doesn't make me pay for their insane amount of packaging, marketing, and brand name. Even if the food is the same price I know it will be of higher quality and fresher than anything I would get at the grocery store.

This week I will be doing some shopping at a few surrounding farms like Flying Plow Farm in Joppa and Weber's Farm in Parkville. Someone just informed me that there are a few Amish markets in Baltimore City and they are open on Thursday and Friday so I will be taking a trip to visit those too.

I'm excited about putting more thought into my food. I want to have "a guy" (or gal) for all of my food needs. I want someone to be my "Sam" to my "Alice"! (Brady Bunch reference alert!!) I love to cook and research recipes. This way if I am putting so much effort into buying the food then I won't want to let the items go bad. There will be plenty of dishes with fresh produce in them! Also, I think my dad will be bringing my freezer down soon so that way I could freeze half of what I cook and save it for a time when I'm feeling a tad lazy!
